Services

The Transportation Department serves various functions within the District.  Our principle and by far most important function is to safely and efficiently pick-up and deliver our District’s students from home to school and back home again.

Regular Bus Routes
Key Features

  • Regular bus routes are designed to provide for the transportation needs of both eligible and hazardous riders district-wide from home to school and back home again.
  • Department policies are designed to offer the greatest safety advantages to both our riders and their parents.
  • Regular routes are scheduled to include eligible transportation services for students from three years of age and up.

Special Needs
Key Features

  • Special needs bus routes are designed to provide for the transportation needs of students who have been determined by their individual educational plan (IEP) to require special transportation.  Transportation services are provided district-wide from home to school and back home again or as provided by the IEP.
  • Department policies are designed to offer the greatest safety advantages to both our riders and their parents.
  • Special Needs routes are scheduled to include eligible transportation services for students from four years of age and up to age 21.

Field Trip Services
Key Features

  • Field trip services are provided for travel both within and outside the district
  • Field trip must be requested well in advance of the planned event and requires prior approval from district, department or campus level administration (as appropriate)
  • All standards of behavior and consequences apply to students using school equipment on field trips within or outside of the district, before, during or after school hours.
